ILLM (knowledge)

ILM: (Knowledge) The aim of acquiring knowledge is to create zeal to learn and put into practice of all the commandments of Allah by the listing or reading the virtues of our deeds and what punishment is store for us if we disobeyed Him. The ILLM (knowledge) means the acquisition of Knowledge of Islam, is one of the most essential requirement of human being. It raises him to the heights of goodness and gives a noble position and real happiness in the two worlds, and above all it helps to attain the Divine Approbation. Allah likes only that knowledge which helps a man in becoming a true obedient servant of Him. He has promised great rewards for those who seek such knowledge. Allah says in Holy Quran: Even as We have sent to you a messenger from among you, who recites to you Our revelations and causes you to grow, and teaches you the Scripture and wisdom, and teaches you that which you knew not. (2:151) He gives wisdom to whom He will, and he to whom wisdom is given, he truly has received abundant good But none remember except men of understanding (2:269), And that those who have been given knowledge may know that it is the truth from your Lord, so that they may believe therein and their hearts may submit humbly to Him. Surely! Allah verily is guiding those who believe to a right path. (22:54) The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) says: "He who leaves home in search of knowledge walked in the path of Allah." He also says: "For him who goes out in search of religious knowledge Allah shall make easy the way to Heaven" To acquire an amount of knowledge that enable a man to perform his religious duties correctly is incumbent upon all Muslims, men and women. The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wasallam) says: "The acquisition of knowledge is incumbent on every Muslim”.

Basics of islam

Praise be to Allah, we seek His help and His forgiveness. We seek refuge with Allah from the evil of our own souls and from our bad deeds. Whomsoever Allah guides will never be led astray, and whomsoever Allah leaves astray, no one can guide. We bear witness that there is no deity worth of worship except Allah, the One, having no partner. And we bear witness that Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is His slave and Messenger. “O you who believe! Fear Allah as He should be feared and die not except in a state of Islam (as Muslims, with complete submission to Allah).” [Al Qur’an 3:102] “O mankind! Be dutiful to your Lord, Who created you from a single person (Adam), and from him (Adam) He created his wife [Hawwa (Eve)], and from them both He created many men and women; and fear Allah through  Whom you demand (your mutual rights), and (do not cut the relations of) the wombs (kinship). Surely, Allah is Ever an All-Watcher over you.” [Al Qur’an 4:1]  “O you who believe! Keep your duty to Allah and fear Him, and speak (always) the truth.” [Al Qur’an 33:70] He (Allah) will direct you to righteous deeds and will forgive you your sins. And whosoever obeys Allah and His Messenger has indeed achieved a great achievement. To proceed: Allah says (interpretation of the meaning): “Indeed he succeeds who purifies his own self (i.e. obeys and performs all that Allah ordered, by following the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism and by doing righteous good deeds). And indeed he fails who corrupts his own self (i.e. disobeys what Allah has ordered, by rejecting the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism or by following polytheism, or by doing every kind of evil wicked deeds).” [Al Qur’an 91:9-10].

(1) Actions of the heart:     a. Beliefs

(2) Actions of the tongue:  a. Remembrance of Allah
                                            b. Restraining the tongue
                                            c. Interaction with others
(3) Actions of the limbs:    a. Pertaining to individuals
                                            b. Pertaining to family and those close to us
                                            c. Pertaining to society.

We believe that these topics will help an average Muslim practice his religion properly, Insha Allah (if Allah wills). We seek the help of Allah for success of this endeavor. “Our Lord! Verily, we have heard the call of one (Prophet Muhammad [sal-Allâhu 'alayhi wa sallam]) calling to Faith: ‘Believe in your Lord,’ and we have believed. Our Lord! Forgive us our sins and expiate from us our evil deeds, and make us die (in the state of righteousness) along with Al-Abrâr (the pious believers of Islamic Monotheism). Our Lord! Grant us what You promised to us through Your Messengers and disgrace us not on the Day of Resurrection, for You never break (Your) Promise.” [Al Qur’an 3:193-194]
